Abs exercises at home are a perfectly valid possibility.
Although the abs can be exercised at home and built up quickly, you won

Abs Exercise At Home
Crunches can be one of the most effective abs exercises at Home if done correctly. Doing crunches all of the time can sometimes become monotonous. In most cases, when a person gets tired of a routine, they usually quit. Now, if this is you and you want to get a lean fit body, then you need to change up your routine.
If the regular crunches start getting too routine, then try some variations such as the exercise ball crunch. All that is needed is an exercise ball.
Lie on the ball, with the ball positioned under the lower back.
Cross arms over chest or put them behind head.
Contract abs to lift the torso off the ball, pulling the bottom of the ribcage downward toward the hips.
Keep the ball stable so it does not roll
Lower back down.
Another ab exercise at home that can be done to work on getting that lean fitbody is the bicycle exercise. There is no equipment required for this exercise.
Lie flat on the floor with the lower back pressed to the floor
Put hands beside your head.
Bring the knees upwards to a 45 degree angle. Slowly go through a bicycle pedaling motion.
Touch the left elbow to the right knee, then alternate with the right elbow to left knee.
Try to maintain steady breathing through out the exercise.
]]>
The Elbow and Toes Plank is another type of home abs exercise to get trim and toned abs. As with the bicycle exercise, no equipment required unless you just have to have a mat.
Lie face down on floor/mat and rest on the forearms with the palms flat on the floor/mat.
Push body off floor and raise up onto the toes and continue resting on the elbows.
Make sure to keep the back flat and in a straight line from the head to the heels.
Tilt the pelvis and contract the abdominal muscles to keep the rear end from being up in the air or sagging too low in the middle.
Hold this pose for about 60 seconds.
Lower back down to the floor and repeat 3-5 reps.
These are just a few abs exercises to get you on the right track to that lean fitbody that you have been trying to get. Of course, exercises are not the only thing that you need to do for a lean body. Diet can also play a huge role in weight loss and getting into great shape. Try to eat a healthy diet along with these 3 Ab Exercises at Home will defiantly get you where you want to be.

Ab Exercises – Why Sit Ups & Crunches are Bad for You
Sit-up is the most popular AND yet, the worst ab exercise. Most people don’t know that sit-up is not a true ab exercise. When performing a sit-up, your main trunk flexor, the iliopsoas muscle, often does the majority of the work while the abs are not fully recruited.
The iliopsoas muscles originates on the lower back so it pulls on the lower back during every repetition of sit-up, especially when your feet are held down or anchored, or repetitions are performed in a jerky manner. Too many sit-ups can lead to strength imbalance between iliopsoas and abs, poor posture and lower back pain.
]]>
People who hold weights while doing sit-ups think that helps to build their abs. Unfortunately, they increase the chances of lower back injury significantly. The iliopsoas muscles work much harder and place even more strain on the lower back than bodyweight sit-ups. Additional weight may lead to poor exercise form, thus amplifying the likelihood of injury.
Crunches are another common ab exercise. Doing hundreds of crunches alone and regularly can pull your head forward and leave your spine slightly flexed (leading to hunch back). You end up with poor posture and lower back pain.
If you don’t overuse crunches, they can still be an effective ab exercise. Vary your ab workout just like you vary your cardio and strength training exercise.
There are plenty of safe and effective ab exercises for conditioning and strengthening your abs, which many people are not aware of. They include total body exercises that work the abs and swiss ball workout.
Believe it or not, you can develop amazing abs without ever doing a single sit-up!

How to get 6 pack abs – Frequency and Duration of Abs Exercises
I guess by now all of us will know that in order to get the perfect abs, we will need a healthy nutritious diet coupled with an effective workout program in helping us getting the perfect abs.
Often, people have the common misconception that by doing more ab exercises, they will be able to get the 6 pack abs faster and more effectively.
However, this is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!
As a matter of fact, over-training can be counter-productive and can even hinder your progress.
In this article, I will be highlighting the optimum duration and frequency of abs exercises to help you get the perfect abs.
In order to reap the most benefits from your abs training, you will just need to complete an intense ab training session in 5-10 minutes during your workouts 2-3 times a week. This will be sufficient enough in getting the perfect abs that you wanted and this routine will allow your muscles to get sufficient rest to fully develop. Any session more than that might lead to over-training. Your abs training should be done either at the end or beginning of your workout, or on a separate day from your compound exercises.
Do abs training at end of your workout only when:
Your workout comprises of full-body or lower body workouts consisting of big compound exercise such as squats or dead lifts. All of these exercises will exert a considerable amount of stress on your back. In order not to injure your back in the process, you will need to stabilize your abs to protect your back. If your abs are already exhausted even before doing the compound exercises, then stabilization of the abs will not be possible. In other hands, this means that you have to solely dependent on your back to perform the compound exercises which will lead to a higher chance of back injury. Hence, it’s a taboo to do your abs training at the beginning of such workouts.
Therefore, for people who have incorporated heavy spine loading exercises in your workout, doing your abs training after your workout will be more suitable for you.
Downside of doing abs training at end of such workout:
There is a high chance that you will be exhausted from the intensive compound exercises that you might have done during your workout. As a result, you will be too fatigued to train your abs and might not train them in the end, or you will just work them half-heartedly. A way to counter this problem would be to allocate another day just for abs training and interval training day.
Do abs training at the beginning of your workout only when:
Your planned workout for the day comprises only of upper-body exercises which put little or no strain on your back.
For this kind of workout, doings abs training first will be better.
Yes, effective abs exercises is undoubtedly important in getting the perfect abs. BUT, effective abs exercises will only work BEST with effective management of the duration and frequency of abs exercises.

Free Workout to Make Your Abs Bigger or The Most Effective Abs Exercise
Article by Steve Wells
It’s simple: If you want to get bigger abs, you have to work out regularly. Actually, you don’t need a lot of time to get strong abs. You can complete an intense ab training session in about 5-10 minutes 2-3 times a week. As your muscles need to rest enough to develop properly, training your abs more than 2-3 times a week actually may lead to over-training and bring your progress to a halt.
So, what you really need to make your abs bigger is persistence (motivation), patience and the right exercises.
So, without further chitchat, here is the arguably Most Effective Abs Exercise:
It’s called the Abdominal Bicycle. Lie flat with your lower back pressed to the floor with your hands behind your head. Now raise your knees to a 45 degree angle, and slowly move your legs in a circular bicycle-peddling type movement. Touch your right elbow with your left knee, then the left elbow with the right knee. If you are a beginner, start with one set of 20 reps (each knee to elbow counts as one rep), then progress to 24, 30 reps. Trust me, if you do it right, you will soon feel a burn in your abs – the best sign that the exercise will make your abs bigger. For a video simply type in ‘abdominal bicycle’ on youtube.
But there is one important thing you need to know:
If you’re not athletic and want to get visible abs, you also need to focus on reducing your body fat percentage. It’s not enough only to repeat the ab exercises. The reason is that men generally need to get below 11% body fat to really start to see the abs. For the best exercise to lose fat, take a look at my article ”Best Way to Lose Fat or How to Lose Belly Fat Fast”.

This is so simple and so effective for conditioning and strengthening your mid section, that you’d be remiss in not adding this to your routine. Or … if you don’t have a routine, this can be the second thing you do after waking up (the first, would be to go to the bathroom) (See more at: www.DrSpencerBaron.com) Why this exercise is considered the “most effective.” While doing electromyographic testing, (a test that hooks up electrodes to the skin or where needle sensors are inserted directly into the muscle) it was found that this exercise was able to show more activity in most of the muscles of the midsection that any other exercise. One key factor! The same study also reveled something that no other test expressed … safety to the low back. Most “effective” abdominal exercises tend to wreck the low back, but no one seems to mention it. I praise this study for hooking up the same sensors to the muscles surrounding the lower spine, thus exposing this coveted little secret. Speaking of “secrets,” this exercise is clearly depicted in the book, “Secrets of the Game, What Superstar Athletes Can Teach You about Health, Peak Performance and Getting Results” Yet, while at the Miami Dolphin training facility last week, I observed a slight addition to this exercise, a barbell! Weighted bar, abdominal crunch Why does this sound like something to eat? I must be hungry since “bar” and “crunch” appear to be the appetite triggers. Anyway, holding a bar up with your arms extended can …
