It’s possible to really transform your body with sensible home workout routines. If you know a few basic facts you do not need to spend a load of cash on expensive equipment.

There’s a whole load of benefits of training at home. No more waiting until it’s your turn to train is just one huge benefit of the home workout routine.

You can design the bodybuilding routines that work for you and you alone.

First thing is knowing which exercises to do for best results. When you know exactly the right exercises to do, then is the time to get the equipment needed to do them safely.

If you have a barbell and some plates, you can do dead lifts. You can build a tremendous amount of muscle with the dead lift if you train it hard.

I’d strongly suggest you invest in a trap bar – this will enable you to work the legs really hard in the dead lift exercise without wearing out your back.

Get a power rack if you can afford it – it will pay for itself many times over. The power rack will enable you to perform all sorts of hard exercises in complete safety.

Squat stands would be a reasonable substitute. It’s worth checking for second hand equipment, but make sure it’s solid.

Inside a power rack you can do the barbell squat, the only exercise that’s as effective as the dead lift.

There isn’t a top bodybuilder around who hasn’t ever squatted or dead lifted – not a coincidence.

Also with the power rack, you can do the military press, a terrific upper body exercise that some rate superior to the bench press. Add a chinning and dipping station to your rack and now you really are in business.

Now we come to benches. You can really build chest muscle with bench presses. A couple of sets of hard bench presses can really make a difference to your upper body. Some apparently stable benches are not stable in the elevated position – do check before you buy!

The key to building muscle is training hard and in safety, so make sure you only bench press inside your power rack.

So yes, you can have a really effective and results producing home workout routine without breaking the bank! You don’t need to do a vast variety of movements to build muscle – in fact it’s better that you don’t – just get good at a few core movements as outlined here, and train them hard and progressively.

A well designed home workout routine, decent diet and plenty of rest and sleep is the secret to transforming your body and fast.
