Everyone is pressed for time these days. It does not have to mean that fitness can’t be a part of your life. In as little as 10 minutes a day, you can begin to make positive changes to your body.

People often have an all or nothing idea about exercise. They feel that if they can’t fit in an hour of exercise that they will do nothing instead.

Successful exercisers make fitness an important part of their lives. Try scheduling your time to exercise like you would any other appointment.

If you are struggling to fit exercise into your day, try these fitness tips:

1. Tackle one body part per day and perform as many reps as it takes to reach failure. Or set a rep goal for yourself and do as many sets as it takes to reach your goal.

2. Exercise while you watch TV. (Don’t just sit there, DO something.) Why not do some crunches, or leg extensions while watching the tube? How about some lunges? Anything yo can do in a gym sitting down, you can do at home sitting down in front of the tube.

3. Superset your workouts. Put two exercises together and perform them one after another with no rest in between. You can either do a mixed superset of an upper and lower move combined, or you can choose two opposing muscle groups like chest and back.

4. Combine 2 moves into 1. Any time you perform a lower body exercise and your arms are not involved you miss out on a time-saving opportunity.

Try performing a lunge with a curl, or lateral raise. Or a squat with on overhead press.

You could create an entire workout around this concept and divide up your body parts and exercises so that you keeps things fresh.

5. Circuit training. Select a number of exercises for your entire body and perform them as a circuit with little or no rest in between. Repeat as time allows for 2-3 circuits.

People will always find excuses to not exercise. These tips show you how to fit exercise into the busiest of schedules and get the benefits of regular exercise.

It’s not about finding the time to exercise, it’s about MAKING the time to exercise. No matter how busy you are. It’s always better to do something than nothing.

Do not just stick with one type of aerobic activity. You can do different aerobic exercises for a period of about 15 minutes each. You can even do one type of aerobic activity today and something different tomorrow. What this will ensure is that all your muscle groups are well exercised.

It is a common misconception that you need to join a good gym to do aerobics. If you just take a look at all the exercises that fall under the aerobics category you will know why this is false. Walking, jogging, cycling; why do you require to go to gym to do these? Matter of fact is that you can very well do these aerobics in the comfortable confines of your own home. Instead of jogging outdoors, you can spot jog in your home, instead of cycling outdoors, you can do it on an exercycle indoors. Aerobic dancing tutorials are available on video; you can do proper aerobic dancing comfortably and with full instructions at home.

Even though you can do many aerobics indoors, it is advisable to do them outdoors as long as the weather permits. The reason for this is that you will be exercising in fresh natural air while doing your aerobics outdoors.

Considering that you are generally fit, you must exercise 4 to 5 days a week. The duration could be anything between 30 minutes to an hour. This should not include warming up time before exercising and cooling down time after exercising.

Do all the aerobic exercises at a constant rhythmic pace. Do not try to force the pace; this could lead to unwanted injury.

Use clothing that is suitable for the type of activity. These will include well fitting tracks and shoes; no loose clothing at all. There is no need to buy the most expensive outfits; just make sure that your clothing feels totally comfortable while exercising.

Always listen to your body. Never over-exert yourself to the point of exhaustion. This may be more harmful than beneficial.

If you have an existing medical condition that is of concern, contact your physician before starting any new exercise regime.

If you intend bodybuilding, you need to perform anaerobic exercises. Aerobic exercising will supplement bodybuilding exercise.

Always choose aerobic activities that you like; it will make exercising a pleasurable experience.

It’s true, boot camp is definitely not easy for anyone! There is absolutely NO way to loaf through a workout. Don’t get freaked out – remember, anyone can complete boot camp- seriously!!! But, it’s not easy for anyone. The good part is that you don’t have to think too much about your workouts not being enough to benefit your body. These workouts will absolutely be challenging though simultaneously very rewarding.

Making New Friends is only 4th here because this isn’t ranked in order of importance:)

Seriously though – making new friends is not as basic as it sounds. For example, some of my friends enjoy running, as do I…. but there’s not a lot of people that enjoy running 12 by 400′s on your 5k pace w/ 45 seconds recovery after each 400, after a 4 mile warm up including drills, w/ a recovery of a few miles afterward. Those kinds of friends are what I call special friends. They are not easy to get together as a group either! Ive actually just moved to Katy and I still have not found many of those kinds of friends yet, for running anyways:) Specialized groups such as this Boot Camp group or the KatyFit running group make specialized fitness more possible for everyone – especially with their reasonable price tags! On that note… I’ve heard KatyFit is awesome – I’ll have to join! No matter what workout awaits you in boot camp – your fellow recruits will be alongside you, waiting for the punishment with you – you’ll be able to finish the workout because your doing it as a group – you wouldn’t let them stop and they won’t let you stop.
