To get toned and defined abs, you need to do two things: diet and exercise. Sit-ups and crunches can be done all day long, but if your abdominals are covered in belly fat, you won’t be able to see them! To get started, here are some exercises that will get your ab muscles developed:

Ab Exercise #1 – Reverse Abdominal Crunches With an Exercise Ball

This is a great exercise to get your core strengthened and your abs toned. It can be quite challenging, so you may have to work at this activity a few times before being able to perform a lot of them. Start by getting into a push-up position, with the palms of your hands on the floor, and the top of your feet on an exercise ball. Your legs should be traight without raising your bum. Slowly bring your knees towards your chest by bending them, which in turn will roll the ball towards your head. Slowly return to starting position.

Ab Exercise #2 – Crunches Using an Exercise Ball

Abdominal crunches are probably the oldest form of abdominal exercises. They get the job done, but this can be taken one step further by performing them on an exercise ball. This will require more effort because you are both contracting your stomach muscles to lift your torso, and also balancing and stabilizing your body. This utilizes even more muscles – including the smaller ones that are harder to target.

Start by sitting on the ball with the top of your feet hooked onto something stable, such as a table or chair. Put your hands behind your ears, and slowly lower your head until your torso is just about parallel to the floor. Slowly raise your head until you are back to starting position. Try resting a barbell plate across your chest for added resistance. This will really develop those ab muscles.

Ab Exercise #3 – Lower Abdominal Leg Raises

This exercise targets the lower abdominals, which are usually harder to define. Start by laying flat on your back with your legs straight and together. Wrap ankle weights around your ankles for increased resistance. You can place your hands either beside your hips, or under your bum for support.

Keeping your legs straight, slowly raise your feet until they are at a 45 degree angle. Do not bring them all the way up to a 90 degree angle, since this will lower the resistance. Hold this position for about 3 seconds, then slowly lower your legs back down. Do not lower them all the way to the floor, since this can put unnecessary strain on your lower back. Bring them down far enough so they are about 4 or 5 inches off the floor.

Diet – Burn the Fat Off Your Abs So They Can Be Seen!

Restricting calories is probably even more important than ab exercises in order to have a defined core. In order to get proper definition, you will have to burn the fat off your body. Generally, try to keep your total daily calorie intake to no more than 1500 calories (1800-2000 for men). Stay away from refined sugar which has a tendency to accumulate fat around the mid-section. Also, limit your alchol consumption for the same reasons.

Combine proper levels of exercises with a calorie-restricted diet to get toned and defined abs.

Have you ever felt when you wave goodbye the back of your arms wobble? Or when you raise your arm up and there is this part that just hangs. Well don’t despair there is an answer to tighten those arms and get toned arms. Forget procedures where you can have an operation to get rid of any excess skin, first take the step to get toned arms and work at it until achieved.

The only reason you would have saggy arms is due to excess fat in your body and weak muscles in the arms. With your palm facing outwards and looking at your arm the top part of your arm muscle is called the bicep and the opposite muscle to this is the tricep muscle. Working both these muscles will help to get toned arms.

There is a number of steps you can take to get toned arms let’s explore these here.

Step 1: Do some compound exercises this means using more than one muscle group. The reason we choose to do compound is to get a muscle balance look. Some compound exercises you can do to work the upper body and in particular using the arms are as follows: pushups, chin-ups/pull-ups, bench press, lat pulldown, dumbbell one arm row.

Step 2: Do some isolation exercises this means working one muscle group at a time. This can help to isolate the muscle and aim for a stronger contraction to gain more intensity to the muscle. Some isolation exercises you can do for the arms are using dumb-bells bicep curls, hammer curls, concentration curls, tricep extension, tricep kickback, tricep pushdown, dips. Generally you should aim to do 2-3 sets of 12-15 repetitions of a combination of both compound and isolation exercises.

Step 3: Do some cardiovascular training to help burn the fat surrounding the arms. Even though you cannot spot fat reduce, however you can do exercises that burn fat to ensure the fat comes off from this area eventually. Choose from the bike, run/jog/walk, or skip, cross trainer do 3 minutes easy then start doing some interval training consisting of 30 seconds fast and 30 seconds easy pace for a total time of 10-15 minutes.

Putting it altogether, start with your warm up of cardiovascular exercise of your choice either a bike, run/walk for 3-5 minutes. Then begin with 2 compound exercises you might do for example Chin-ups, then do bench press, then do one arm row, then do push ups. You can then do your isolation exercises being tricep pushdown, then do bicep curls, then do dips and some preacher curls to finish. Remember to add in step 3 the interval training and stretch your upper body when completed.

You should aim to do this at least 3 times per week for an overall toning benefit for your arms.
