Your struggles with losing weight, getting in shape and burning nasty ugly fat may have a lot to do with how you are exercising. If you’ve been stuck too long, read on carefully… because I’m going to fill you in on what kind of exercise you should be using.
What I’m about to tell you may go against everything you’ve learned about fat burning. But, if you’re willing to open your mind and think outside the box, it might just be the most important information you’ve ever read.
The truth that there is a better way to exercise. It’s the way sprinters and other high level athletes have done for years. It does not involve hours of grueling time on a treadmill or miles and miles of distance on the road. It can give you maximum results in as little as a couple of minutes of exercise per day.
Sprinters (and most other athletes) train primarily their anaerobic energy system… using the energy stored in their muscles to fuel short bursts of high intensity exercise. This type of exercise will give you more “bang for the buck” because it is the most effective way to burn fat and calories while also building lean, functional muscle.
These are benefits that low intensity, high volume cardio just won’t give you.
High intensity allows you to “double dip” during your workouts.
First, as a fat burner, this type of exercise is hard to beat. That’s because raising the intensity of your exercise results in your body burning huge amounts of calories. The demands placed on your body in quick short bursts of exercise require a lot of energy. Training like a sprinter will burn more fat due to these high energy demands (and, according to one study, may even teach your body to burn fat first).
Not only that, but your body will keep burning calories long after your workout. One study showed that doing high energy exercises every other day could lead to an extra 2 pounds per month (or more) of fat loss, just from the rise in metabolism and extra calories burned. Do the math ‘ that adds up to an extra 20 plus pounds of fat burned per year due to this post-workout metabolic effect.
And better yet, according to a report released by the American Diabetes Association, high intensity exercise is the best way to burn the fat around your middle (a.k.a. belly fat), one of the most difficult places to melt off the flab. Low intensity, high volume cardio will not give you the same effects.
But, high intensity exercise doesn’t just burn fat. The second “dip” in your workout will result in building lean, powerful muscle as well. Hey, let’s face it, losing flab is only half the battle. If you want to look good (and feel better about yourself), it’s equally as important to tone and firm the muscles in your abs, arms, thighs, hips and backside. If you just lose the fat, you could look soft and flabby. Defining your muscles through high intensity exercise can take care of a lot of that and make you proud of the way you look.
High intensity exercise like interval training builds muscle by putting you through full body, ground-based movements. Forcing your muscles to work in unison – as a functional unit. Just the ticket to raise your natural HGH levels and make your muscles look and feel young again.
Long, slow cardio may actually have the opposite effect… shrinking your muscles to make your body more efficient for the long haul. Upping the intensity of your workouts will burn more calories and fat than tired old cardio. And, in a 2 for 1 bonus, it will also help you build strong, sexy muscle at the same time. (Not to mention that most high intensity workouts can be done in just a few minutes ‘ much less than the 30 minutes to an hour you’ve been trying to do on the cardio machines).

We’ve got to put in a ridiculous amount of effort just to get the same results– if that result is even possible– right? That’s what I thought. But in truth, not only is it totally possible, but it’s not anywhere near as difficult learning how to get abs as you’ve probably imagined. During the average person’s quest on how to get abs, it’s very easy to fall into one particular trap. There’s an obvious (or seemingly obvious) mistake that far too many people make. lets admit that when we say we want to get in shape we picture ourselves in a bathing suit with a toned midsection. Thats when we realize trhat what we want is to get abs. You have been preparing for the summer vacation to the beach, gettting a nice tan, buying plenty of swimsuits for the beach and you feel great about them….until you look at yourself in the mirror without a shirt. You see that layer of fat sitting right around your stomach and waist.
Don’t feel bad about this because you are not alone. I have had this same problem for years. I do my best to get rid of that layer of fat every year and it is not easy. The fat around my stomach has always been there and i hate it because its what keeps me from being able to get abs. I take my shirt off and look in the mirror and see a great body, except for that roll right on my stomach.
At first i thought the best way to get rid of stomach fat and get abs was to do many stomach exercises. It seemed logical to me. After all we all have heard about doing crunches and long, painful abdominal workouts to get abs.
However, i soon found out that that was not going to work at all. In fact it produced the opposite results as i had wanted. Yes working out my abs did increase the size of my abdominal muscles and did develop a “six pack” or “get abs” but, it was not what I had wanted. When the muscles started to develop they increased the size of my abdomen but because I still had that layer of fat they just pushed the fat farther out. So, even though i had gained muscles on my stomach it appeared as if i had gotten fatter because the fat only got pushed farther out…not gotten rid of and i certainly did not get abs like i was hoping for.
I was upset that after putting all that effort into exercising I still hadnt reached the results i had hoped for. After a lot of research I found several tips that have helped me get closer to my goal and you will be suprised on what it actually takes to lose that belly fat and get abs.
The best way to get rid of that stomach fat is not actually through ab workouts. Im not saying not to work out your abs because i do that myself but, the trick to getting that six pack is through cardiovascular workouts. No matter how big your abs are you will never see them if they are covered by a layer of fat. Your body does not reduce one spots fat without reducing the fat from other areas too. The fat goes on and comes off in layers. By getting rid of the fat all over your body your stomach will get rid of its fat too.
I began a full body workout to compliment my jogging (cardio workout) and with some help from friends I have been able to finally get that beach body i have been working my whole life for…and of course get abs
