I started doing the Zumba fitness classes at my sports club and was so captivated with them that I needed to do them at my place. After researching the Zumba video workout, I came accross the Total Body Transformation set and bought it. I appreciated it, but it was not like the Zumba Beginners session that I took at the fitness center.

The initial Zumba Video is a beginner DVD that shows you how to do the steps, and includes a 20 minute workout. Although you may be a rather healthy, enthusiastic person, I can reassure you that you’ll break into a sweat fast with just the instructional DVD. They break all of the steps into “easy”, “medium” and “hard” so that you can pickup the steps and be accustomed enough with them to move up to go with the added Zumba video workout dvds.

I ended up researching some other reviews found a ton that were greatly forthcoming. That was certainly important to me because, here I thought I knew the steps from taking classes at the sports club, but I certainly didn’t. If I do go back to classes at the gym, the beginner DVD will essentially help me seem a pro.

The following Zumba video is the 20 minute workout, which is also a excellent beginner DVD, but I guess it could get old when you become competent at the moves.

My favorite is the Zumba Live DVD is which is almost certainly best described as a freestyle. There is no set moves, as every person is just jamming to the songs. This is where you get to put your favorite moves to the test and burn extensive amounts of calories. Beto, the architect of Zumba, has a high energy to him, but is difficult to understand at times. Good thing though that the other instructors are excellent and easy to go along with.

I also believed it was quite different than my classes. I was hoping to hear some of the same music and routines that I see in the live classes I attend, but it’s distinctive. I wouldn’t claim that it’s better or worse, just different than I had anticipated.

One item I found was that ‘The weighted dumbbells “are pretty lame. They are elongated, and not real heavy so I haven’t used them up till now for the reason that I find it problematical to add one more dimension to these movements still. You want to ensure you have a good gap in front of your TV if you’re going to use these.

As a whole workout routine I would favorably recommend the Zumba video workout. Word to the wise though is that I also propose that you wear hip-hop shoes, and as few clothes as viable, whenever I try to do this dressed in a tshirt, it ends up wringing in sweat. Prepare to sweat and work your butt off and you’ll be well on your way to having inches of fat goop falling off with all these Latin dances!
